Besides, does it really matter who hacked Mrs. [Hillary] Clinton's election campaign team database? Does it? What really matters is the content shown to the community. This is what the discussion should be held about.
[Political actions] has to happen on the local and state level; we have to convince our cities to join the growing number of more than 200 American cities who have signed on to the mayor's climate campaign.
I'm probably the wrong person to ask. My partner in much of this work [climate movement], who really came up with the divestment campaign with me, Naomi Klein, I think has written powerfully about this.
Here's what I'm saying, that there is now ongoing a post-mortem review of what could have gone better [during Hillary Clinton campaign] and what mistakes may have been made.
Now, the Clinton campaign, you must understand something about the Clintons, and it's true of [Barack] Obama, and it's true of most Democrats. They are always in campaign mode. Even after they win elections, they stay in campaign mode in terms of how they reach people.
[Bill] Clinton remained in campaign mode the first years of his first term.
[Barack] Obama still is in campaign mode. The Limbaugh Theorem explains it. We've had eight years of Obama and he still isn't being held accountable for the horrible policies that he has implemented because he continues to portray himself as not attached to them.
It's a strategic thing to be in permanent campaign mode.
Being in permanent campaign mode allows you to never stop the process of destroying your opponents.
Now the roles have been reversed, because the Hillary [Clinton] campaign is livid that they lost, and they think they lost because [Donald] Trump sent out bird whistles, dog whistles, whatever, to the white supremacists out there, and the white supremacists are the ones that came out of the shadows, not the illegal immigrants, the white supremacists came out of the shadows and they got their hoses and they got their whatever else and they started beating up on Democrats and poor Hillary.
Everybody was telling [the Democrats], the media, everybody telling them they're gonna win in a landslide, [Donald] Trump's a buffoon, look at his campaign staff, a bunch of nobody's and know-nothings. Looks at his supporters, a bunch of white supremacist goombahs. They're in utter denial.
There was no civility, there was no sophistication, there was nothing but raw resentment and anger on the part of the Hillary [Clinton] campaign staff.
Jennifer Palmieri going after Kellyanne Conway and the first sound bite is a discussion of Steve Bannon and what a reprobate the Clinton people think he is and how dare you have somebody like that on your team. How dare you campaign on white supremacism. Jennifer Palmieri starts it off.
I am more proud of Hillary Clinton's alt-right speech than any other moment on the campaign .
I am deeply concerned - about virtually everything that Trump is talking about and has talked about in his campaign and the kind of people that he is appointing.
If the popular vote elected the president today, two states - California and New York - would be all you would need. And that means campaigns would occur only there and campaigns would focus only on issues relevant to those people in those states.
Campaigns are conducted specifically because of the Electoral College, and people accept it and they understand it. Whether they know it or not, they accept it.
Do you think I ran a campaign where white supremacists had a platform? Are you gonna look me in the face and tell me that?
[Kellyanne Conway]taking [Jennifer] Palmieri to school. You had a lousy candidate, you've got a candidate who's arrogant and aloof and didn't even campaign in states she thought she was gonna be coronated in. She thinks she's better than everybody else.
[Hillary Clinton] is now lost two times in a row, is the message that [Kellyanne] Conway was sending. But to the Clinton camp, the campaign's never over. It's gonna continue 'cause then you're raising money for the foundation. She's floating the fact she might run again in 2020.
That was [Joel] Benenson. "We're talking about this election, Kellyanne [Conway]." See, they're in permanent campaign mode, and they haven't come to grips with the fact that they lost. It was stolen from them, or the alt-right did something or the white supremacists came up and did something. They didn't lose.
There are the Podesta emails we've been publishing. [John] Podesta is Hillary Clinton's primary campaign manager, so there's a thread that runs through all these emails; there are quite a lot of pay-for-play, as they call it, giving access in exchange for money to states, individuals and corporations.
There's an early 2014 email from Hillary Clinton, not so long after she left the State Department, to her campaign manager John Podesta that states ISIL is funded by the governments of Saudi Arabia and Qatar. Now this is the most significant email in the whole collection, and perhaps because Saudi and Qatari money is spread all over the Clinton Foundation.
If you were following the [Barack] Obama campaign back then, closely, you could see it had become very close to banking interests. So I think you can't properly understand Hillary Clinton's foreign policy without understanding Saudi Arabia.
All the old rules - if you say some crazy stuff you get your show canceled or you get your campaign ended - don't apply in the world of social media. They don't apply in the world of reality TV.
